I can’t believe that the first series of the Cactus tour is over, but I guess it’s been a while since I wrote, I promise to keep you more updated!
The final event of the Cactus tour was yesterday at ASU-Karsten golf club and I finished on a high note, a bogie free 67! It was the first time I believe I have ever had a card without a 5 on it. I birded all the par 5’s and a par 3. I finished the event T9th, which was pretty good seeing as I struggled with the putter the first 2 days. I have always felt confident, almost automatic, within 5 feet and within the last week i was clearly not. After mondays round I worked on just my putting stroke for about 2 hours and figured out that I was taking it outside on the way back which caused me to cut the ball, thus missing everything left. Guess I got it figured out…. only had 27 putts yesterday!
I feel like I had an ok series this spring with 7/9 top 10’s and only missing a paycheck once; however I know that my mental game has kept me from winning. It is taking me a while to get back into believing that I can indeed win. Why Im not too sure? I did it 5 times in college and was sooo close a couple times last year. And even though it may not count as an official win, I won the pro championship 2 weeks ago at ” A day with the Duke” pro am in Maumelle, Ar. I had one of the best groups ever! Thanks so much to Jan, Wally, Brad, and Rob, you guys are so awesome, I had a blast. Also, thanks to Ken Duke. This PGA tour pro is such a down to earth, cool guy, I wish you the best of luck this year Ken and I know that a win is only a matter of time. I will see you at Augusta next year, because I have been promised tickets from many sources!! (you all know who you are!!!!) ahah
Up next for me as far as play goes is the first stage of US Open qualifyer in Austin, TX on May 21st. Then the first of three CN Canadian tour events. Im going to try and play as many events as I can this summer to gear up for the fall season of Cactus and of course LPGA Q school in September.
Also, this summer I plan on working as many corporate, charity, and pro am events as possible. It’s a blast spending the day with a group of people who are getting a day off work to come and play golf. Their all loving the fact their not at work!! So if anyone has an event coming up that they would like me to attend please let me know.
I can’t say thank you enough to all my sponsors, living my dream would not be possible without you, thank you!
Lastly, I want to say happy mothers day to my mom, grandma and susan. I love you.
